Denver lies at the junction
of Cherry Creek with the South Platte River, at the base of the Rocky
Mountains. It is the financial and cultural hub of a broad area. Denver a significant
industrial centre, a major goal for trade travel, and a fine base for trips
into the Rockies.

Mount Evans
From Idaho Spring, The road runs precipitously up past the wonderfully
located Echo Lake to the alpine pastures on Mount Evans. From the peak there
are magnificent panoramic views out over the mountains and valley beneath. A diversity
of wildlife also frequents the region. At these elevations it is not rare to
see mount goats, bighorn sheep and marmots. The Mount Evans Highway is a cyclic
road which is clogged throughout the winter months, frequently reopening in
late May.

Denver Zoo
The Denver Zoo is brilliantly laid out, with enclosures tailored
to unusual species, from the glacial bears' den to monkeys' island. The zoo is loyal
to an elongated term plan to reinstate and update
exhibits. The zoo was begun in the late 1800s so by the 1990s the zoo
was in require of a modernize and work has been ongoing. Some of the latest
exhibits at the Denver Zoo include the Primate Panorama, Tropical Discovery,
and Predator Ridge. Nowadays the zoo is one of Denver's most admired
attractions.
