World Health Organization (WHO) Advised to Halve Daily Sugar Intake

WHO has guided the people to halve the amount of sugar, they intake daily. According to the recent advise by WHO, the daily sugar intake should be not more than 10% of daily calorie intake. The sugar intake target should be set in accordance with the amount of sugar naturally present in the food or added to food; you must count the sugar intake while taking fruit juices, syrups, fruit concentrates and honey.  UK campaigners say that it is quite surprising that WHO has changed its advise; in 2002 the experts said 10% daily sugar intake is acceptable but the rising level of obesity around the world has forced the experts to change its advise and guided the people to make daily sugar intake between 5%-10% maximum. The BMJ  obesity study showed that sugar does not directly cause obesity but the amount of sugar in food particularly sweetened drinks cause tends to put on the weight so it is important to set the target at 5% and do not exceed to 10%.
