Insect Museum of West China reports that a voyage to the border of Chengdu in July returned dobsonflies
with 8.3 inch giant snake like fangs and wingspans. It is also reported that
previously, 7.5 inches wingspans insect was found in the South American region.
According to the entomologists, the presence of this giant insect native to
Vietnam and China is the indication of clean water nearby. CNN reports
that these flying aquatic insects are very sensitive to clean water, if there
occur a slight change in water’s PH, they will move on to seek the cleaner
water.
