People aren't purchasing almost as lots of new phones as they used to

The report explains the holdup is probable because of "increasing penetration maturity in major markets of the US, Europe and China," which translates to most people previously having a smart phone in these areas. And for those who by now do have smart phones, lots of are most likely not buying latest smart phones each year.

Samsung is sovereign

Even with the slowing smart phone sales, mutually Apple and Samsung have seen minor increases in smart phone sales from the same Q3 period previous year.  Samsung has the lion's split of the market distribute immediately with 23.7%, though it's a small reject from Q3 2014, when it had 24.5%.

Still, it did see an enlarge in sales, with about 83.8 million units shipped, this year compared to preceding year's 79.2 million units. In the meantime, Apple sits at about 13.6% of the market share, an enhance from Q3 2014's 12.2%. In conditions of sales, 48 million units were shipped, a decemt boost compared to last year's 39.3 million units.
