Pairing Opioid painkillers with tranquilizers can be fatal

Food and drug administration are warning doctors and patients not to take an Opioid dose with a tranquilizer as mixing them causes breathing problems leading to coma and eventually death.

The FDA is going to announce a black-box warning — the strongest warning — against 400 drugs including  opioid-containing cough medicines and benzodiazepines used for treating anxiety and other psychological problems.

Usually physicians heal minor problems of coughing by pairing these drugs but curing with these drugs were not based on a scientific research.

According to health officials, "Nearly one in three unintentional over dose deaths from prescription opioids also involve Benzodiazepines." Now FDA need to take an abrupt act to control the use of painkillers.
