Bird flu outbreaks in Nepal hundreds of chickens culled

A strain of H5N1 of bird flu at a poultry farm on the outside of the city by some officials. Due to the reason about 1200 chickens have died at the poultry farm from bird flu virus and the remaining were killed around about 800 and thousands of eggs have also been destroyed.


This virus has been detected in Kathmandu for the first time in December last year. In February, it was also found in southeastern Nepal. Nepal first reported outbreak of bird flu was in January 2009.
